Thanksgiving Cornucopia*

Hi Everyone!!  It has been a day today!! I worked from home, but this morning I had two appointments .. one with the Physiotherapist and one with the Dietitian. I went in.. they did my weighing. I'm down to 217 and I have not lost any muscle this month.. which is a great thing. But, then they started talking about my obsession with the scale.. with hubby too. I know I have a problem, so we talked about it. I fought the tears as long as I could LOL but then they came. I hate that I get all emotional!! So, they are going to send me to the Psychologist so we can see if we can come up with some things to help me work through this. I know I'm obsessed and I also know that if I were to gain anything that I would mortified. I'm hung up on the .. you have a year and a half to lose the weight that they tell you about. I know that I've done well... Down from 295 top weight, but I still feel like I'm not doing well enough. I see that I'm 6 months in and others have lost more. I tell myself that I'm doing well... I'm lifting so I'm not losing muscle... I'm just losing fat and they show me that every time I go in, but those numbers are killing me! So... we will see how that appointment goes. I certainly don't want something to hit me in the end and I get all down and go back to bad habits. So... better to jump on it now! I've worked too hard to get to where I am.. I feel better.. I look better.. I'm healthier. Why is that not enough for me? I have no idea. And why do I keep comparing myself to others! I can't seem to stop. Ughhh!!  A struggle every day... I can do this too!  And my hubby is the best!! He is the best support!! I love him dearly for being there.. being honest and helping through everything. And you know what... Jesus answering my prayers for help with this. Jesus loves me this I know!

Okay.. enough of my dribble :D  Here is my card for today:

This image and the sentiments are From The Heart. I had so much fun creating this with the sentiments and the image both!! I colored the image with my Copic Markers and did a bit of layering. I added some stitching to all of the folds. On the front with the "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment I added some dew drops. I also inked all the edges.. of the sentiments, the card base and the patterned paper. On the middle sentiment I added some sequins. Then, on the back panel I have the image which was cut around by a My Favorite Stamps die. I did a bit of inking around the image by masking it with another printed image. I added some twine and the leaf charm and a few gems. The leaf gem was colored with some alcohol inks. The card base and top papers were all cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I hope you like it!!

Copic Colors Used:
  • Horn: E33, E35, E37
  • Eggplant: V15, V17, BV08
  • Grapes: G20, G43
  • Wheat: E41, E43
  • Apples: R22, R24, R29
  • Pumpkins: YR02, YR04, YR09
  • Corn: Y11, Y19; YG11, YG13, YG17

Susan, I'm glad they have you going to get some support. We that overeat are obsessive and that just transfers from food to the scale for some of us. I too started at 295 and then only went down to 185. For some reason, my body stopped. I didn't change a thing but that is where I stayed for several years. Then, the horrible thing happened. I gained and gained, and gained. You are smart to be fearful of that weight gain because it is horrifying. I went back up to about 265, but you know what - I took the bull by the horns again and used the pouch how it was intended and I'm back down to 215 lbs. I'm still losing again so we'll see where this takes me. Anyway - I came because I wanted to comment on your STUNNING entry for the sketch challenge at From The Heart Stamps - WOW - double Wow - this is about the most beautiful card I've seen with this image. I just love it. Hit me up on private message if you ever want to chat. Take care. Kathy

what a stellar design. I love everything about this - the fold, the stitching, the gems and your incredible colouring of the pumpkins. I love that gold leaf too.

I hopped over from the Path of Positivity voting page and I'm pretty sure I'm going to vote for you. Your honest sharing of your weight loss journey and your turbulent feelings touched my heart. I so admire what you are doing.

I have a gift for you on my blog. It is a word art image of a message I feel the Lord has given me to share on a regular basis. I hope it will lift you up and encourage you. Here is the link: http://teacloserwalk.blogspot.ca/2015/11/sundays-little-blessing-word-art.html
